Announcement: The Golf Cart Parade scheduled for December 14th, 2024 is NOT an ISD sponsored event.

Per last Thursday’s Board Of Supervisors Monthly Meeting.

Residents: There have been several questions & concerns on the LPEISD's position regarding golf cart parades within Lake Padgett Estates.  The Lake Padgett Estates Independent Special District (LPEISD) is NOT a sponsor nor an organizer of the annual Lake Padgett Estates golf cart Christmas parade.  The LPEISD Board of Supervisors notes that as of this date no individual or organization has come forward to sponsor or officially organize this event, nor has a valid right-of-way permit been obtained from Pasco County to allow this parade to occur on public roadways. At our monthly board meeting last Thursday, based on advice of the LPEISD's  attorney and his review of the Facebook comments, previous years notes, and LPEISD Board Minutes, it was noted that LPEISD has never sanctioned nor sponsored this annual community event.   The LPEISD Board of Supervisors was also advised by Peggy Crowley that the LPE Civic Association was pursuing attempts to obtain a right-of-way permit from Pasco County for this "private event".  Therefore, to accommodate residents of Lake Padgett Estates and their registered guests who plan on participating in this parade, the Lake Padgett Board of Supervisors has agreed to allow after hour access to Laird Park to those LPEISD residents with valid gate cards and properly decaled vehicles, conditional upon the Lake Padgett Civic Association obtaining a proper right-of-way permit from Pasco County in order to allow this parade to occur as scheduled.

Please understand that as Lake Padgett Estate residents, the LPEISD Board of Supervisors love our community and we wish to support community events for our Lake Padgett Estate residents and their guests.  However, such events must be properly sponsored, organized and permitted. The LPEISD's authority is limited to the operation and management of the parks within Lake Padgett Estates. We are not an HOA, a CDD or a civic association. We have no legal authority to organize or sponsor events outside the confines of our parks and recreational facilities.  Unfortunately in the the litigious society we now live, we cannot jeopardize our District's $23 million plus in community parks and assets.  We applaud the efforts of the Lake Padgett Civic Association to obtain a proper permit for this event and wish them the best of luck in obtaining one.  Should they succeed we stand ready with them to make our parks accessible for our residents and their guests.
